Winter 2008Dear Mr. President...A few months ago, it became possible to hear members and supporters of your administration going around Washington and saying that the question of a nuclear-armed Iran “would not be left to the next administration.” As a line of the day, this had the advantage of sounding both determined and slightly mysterious... Another brilliant and incisive article from one of the finest writers of our time. Mr. Hitchens' proposals, packed with his usual dose of common sense, deserve serious consideration. Larry Feazell Georgetown, KY February 20, 2008 5:47:29 PM EST I found it difficult to believe that this is the very same Hitchens who wrote that awful atheist manifesto book that was so full of errors. I was also stunned to discover that he has a degree from Oxford in philosophy, an area of knowledge he seemed to be decidedly ignorant of in his book. At least he appears to know something about Iran. Nevertheless, Hitchens is not great and tends to poison everything he writes about, except Iran apparently. Wow! Has Christopher Hitchens finally taken the born-again Christian Hitch in the back seat with the outgoing President? I thought he was a declared British atheist, but I read he's become a god-trusting US citizen. | ||
