Haaretz's Ari Shavit asks a good question: where are the anti-Assad protests, either from Arabs or the international left in general? These two groups can be counted upon to draw massive crowds whenever an Israeli soldier fires a bullet. But Assad has killed well over 10,000 people at this point, and, as Shavit writes, "the silence is deafening."
